Healing Art Photography and Fine Art Gifts

I believe in the healing power of nature. If we take a moment to immerse ourselves in an image of nature we will feel rejuvenated, renewed and revived. Studies have shown that what we look at not just affects our mood, but also how we relate to others and our attention to detail. So if your feeling stressed, run down or just deserve a break, look at the images under "Healing Art" and immerse yourself in them.
My new line of photo gifts enables you to have Healing Art with you wherever you go and also to give as gifts to those who may not be into wall art.

The photogifts include watches, clocks, clothing, hip flasks, keyrings, usb sticks, phone covers, ipad covers, kindle covers, cushions, cards, stickers and so much more. Click on the tab that says Photo Gifts to see them all.

I send out an e-newsletter to anyone who wants one, including a free monthly image to use as a screensaver or desktop image to help in your healing and to lower your overall stress levels. I also let you know what I am up to and include any specials or coupons. To subscribe please send me an email at jules@juliaharwood.com with "Subscribe" in the subject line.

Practice What We Preach

Do you so often think positive websites and blogs are all a little "Pollyanna", in other words a little removed from the reality of everyday life.
For example my blog "Healing Art", can it really be healing or is it all pie in the sky.
Let me tell you, in the last month I have been put under incredible stress, had friends disappoint me, been wrongly accused and physically been stretched to breaking point. As each situation happened I put into practice what I teach and spent time out in nature. It worked BUT the cumulative effect became overwhelming. When the final blow fell I started crying and couldn't stop, after 4 hrs of trying positive talk, trying to control my emotions, trying to stop crying my husband said lets go for a drive, I said ok as I felt sorry for him having to deal with me like this. As we drove around nothing changed until we came to a beach & I said, "Hon, stop here". He did and we went down to the waters edge, I wandered off on my own looking at the rocks and shells and a blue heron that was there, I took some pics and noticed that I had stopped crying and I was beginning to feel stronger. I walked back to my hubbby and we walked along the beach. Although I still felt sad and dissapointed in the situation I was able to get on with life knowing that we can't control others and what they say & think, but that doesn't have to diminish me as a person and I can go on & be happy & fulfilled.
This is the blue heron as he took off. This was taken on my iphone, but I still wanted to share it with you.
So I would encourage you, when life becomes overwhelming take time out, time for you, go out in nature, absorb yourself in her and see what the results are.
Wishing each and everyone of you love and happiness, but most of all self acceptance and self love.

A Taste of Tasmania

Our trip progresses well. We are staying at the Blue seal Cafe & Guesthouse tonight at Eagleshawk Neck. A lovely cafe and accomodation. They gave us a free upgrade and also include breakfast in their prices. They also run the Tasman Island Adventure Cruises. Unfortunately we went on a cruise yesterday which cost twice as much and although good was so crowded you couldn't move let alone take decent photos!!! Have seen photos from this cruise & wish we'd gone on this one instead!!!
All is not lost I have managed to get some great shots when we stopped for lunch.

Life on the road

They came from near and far,
By Motorhome, caravan & car,
There was the Crazy Lady, Maggie
And Funny Girl, Clare a psychic to boot,
Ethel with her four legged companion Milo
And Bill and Tracey to name a few
Each had a story to tell, a joke to share or a yarn they'd heard along the track.
This is life on the road, making new freinds, meeting people from all walks of life,
Sharing a beer and nibbles,
Five o'clock is happy hour:
Just look around, pull up a chair and join the fun, everyone's welcome and laughs are aplenty.
Introduce yourself, say we're your from and next thing you'll know you've got friends from all around.
As night wears on one by one we say our goodnights and head for bed....another day on the road awaits.
new adventures to be had, new friends to meet.
