Healing Art Photography and Fine Art Gifts

Studies have shown that what we look at not just affects our mood, but also how we relate to others and our attention to detail. So if your feeling stressed, run down or just deserve a break, look at the images under "Healing Art" and immerse yourself in them.

"Fireworks, Gold Coast, Australia" by Julia Harwood | Redbubble

"Fireworks, Gold Coast, Australia" by Julia Harwood | Redbubble:
This image was taken at the end of the Gold Coast show. It was a great pyrotechnics show. The wxcotement of fireworks is something that we associate with joy, happiness, celebration and wonder. The colours exploding into the night sky as the lights cascade around us and we are totally captivated and we are able to just be.
This was taken using a tripod and as a long exposure. I find an exposure between 2 and 5 seconds is the best. I also use a cable release.

"Full Moon Rising, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia" by Julia Harwood | Redbubble

"Full Moon Rising, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia" by Julia Harwood | RedbubbleThis was the full moon as it rose on the Gold Coast last night. It is a blue moon as it was the second full moon of the month of August. The Gold Coast is full of high rise buildings all along the coast and most of the time this detracts from nature, but every now and then it works with nature to fuel our sense of the romantic and enable us to experience the beauty of nature even in amongst the city buildings of man.
The orange colour comes from the smog and/or clouds at the horizon level, the moon often appears larger and orange until it rises higher in the sky when it appears white and smaller. I love the fact that you can get a glimpse of the structure of the moon, it’s craters and lakes when the moon is full and low in the sky.

"Apollo Bay, Victoria Tee Shirt" Kids Clothes by Julia Harwood | Redbubble

Apollo Bay, Victoria Tee Shirt
 by

This picture was taken on the road to Cape Ottway Lighthouse near Apollo Bay in Victoria. there are signs up saying “beware of drop bears”, if you look up in the trees over the road you will see these gorgeous creatures. They are a native of Australia and are often referred to as a Koala Bear, when in fact they are not related to bears at all, however they are cute and cuddly so I think it’s okay for them to have the honoury title.
The technical details: The koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) is an arboreal herbivorous marsupial native to Australia.
I never get tired of seeing them, they are so cute!"Apollo Bay, Victoria Tee Shirt" Kids Clothes by Julia Harwood | Redbubble:  Available in many colours, and older kids and adults sizes as well.

This beautiful bird was showing me all his colours as he prepared to take off. This one is actually tame, he talks, loves to pose for a photo and loves kisses. We came across him in Airlie Beach at the Big 4 Whitsundays Caravan Park.
